1373

This is going to be a quick post, because I have somewhere to be in a few minutes, but…

I finally started writing B4 today. Well, that’s not entirely true. I wrote the prologue a week ago, and I’ve been tweaking it ever since. I’m more or less happy with it, so I started working on the rest of Chapter 1 today.

I’ve been working with a friend on the outline for the entire book, and we’ve made a lot of progress. My unnamed friend is much better at enforcing discipline than I am. He’s also better at organizing and tightening a plot, which is one of the main reasons I accepted his offer to help. Book 4 is going to be massively complex, and I’ll have a lot of balls in the air at the same time. (Sorry for the pun.)

Anyway, I had a few hours this afternoon. And since I have a good idea of the scope of Chapter 1, I began writing. It was a little slow at first, but I got into the swing of things soon enough. And while 1373 words might not seem like much, it’s 1373 more words than I had before. Besides, 1500 words is a really good day of writing. Ask any serious author, and they’ll agree. Stephen King might not, but then again, he might.

I’m still on track to publish by the end of the year, although it’ll be something like a New Year’s Eve present. But hey, 2006 is 2006, right?

In any event, I’m over my block (for the time being) and things are moving again. If I can do the same thing tomorrow, I’ll feel even better, but I’m going to take things one day at a time.

Bill W. would be proud.

Thanks for reading.

Since I only managed about 500 words today, despite having (in theory) the whole day, I have no room whatsoever to criticise!

I hope that one day your un-named friend will become a named one, Nick. We can’t have two “~Nameless” types about!

    Hi, Nick,

Having just finished reading SC (what’s published so far), I am really pleased you are continuing the story as you work on B4. Your story is very realistic to me, as I identify with Kendall: similar build, large breasted, shaved, and was raised in a nudist family. Your attention to detail is amazing.

Keep up the good work. I really look forward to reading the new chapters of Summer Camp as you publish them …

Thanks for the heads up Nick. I’ve really enjoyed the story so far and am looking forward to the end where all our questions will be answered. In the future when it seems the story is getting away from you or you’re becoming sick of those that moan because you’re not writting fast enought for them, remember, “success is how high you bounce after you hit rock bottom”. Keep up the great work.

You might want to update the note on the actual B4 page just to let the folks who are checking that (but not Nereids, foolish people) know what’s going on too! :)
    Thanks for the update.

    Nick,

great to hear that you are over the block, but please take the time to allow yourself to enjoy the writing process. I am sure that anyone who writes the quality stuff you do gets a real buzz from creating.

As for us readers, well I think I get enough from what you give us in the site already. Everything from the daily pic through to nereids is good stuff.

When you start posting B4 I will consider it a bonus. A great site, thanks for you efforts.

    Nick,
It is great that things are moving, but I hope most of us fans egging you on are gratefull for what You write, when you write it.
At present we are hungry for chapters of Nereids and a background ache for B4. I am grateful for what we receive, and wish you joy of creation, so don’t stress on the time, you deserve the good feelings of creating wonderful prose, and that for entertaining so many of us. Also, You are a human being, not a machine, you can’t keep pounding out pages all the time!
    Thank

    John

Somehow I suspected all year that we would getting the prologue as a New year’s eve gift.

I even joked about it would be a TERB thing to have just the first word/sentence posted on Dec 31st with the rest of the prologue appearing sometime in Jan 2007.

It’s like waiting for a train set for Christmas. As long as it comes with an engine and caboose - we’ll be happy! The track can come later. Have a great Holiday.

I suspect that writing is like life. You don’t know what is comming at you and when. Often you would like to get certain things over but most often they take their own time.
Thanks for sharing with us. You have a gift.
